I didn’t just want anything that would take up my time or anything like that. Finding one like that would be easy enough and would not require any real hard thought, or even research. What I wanted, and what I needed, was a hobby that I might also use for some productive purpose some day, like earn me some extra income. I knew even then that there are a lot of hobbies out there which could qualify as potential money earners in due time, or just plain useful. I knew however, that I still wanted to find just the right one, the hobby that will suit me just fine.

It so happened that I was still thinking about what to engage in, when a friend helped me out quite unexpectedly. A few weeks back, I came over to a friend’s house when I didn’t have any work at the office. There I found him busy tinkering away at some thin and flat sheets of metal. He said he was currently enjoying doing some welding sheet metal, particularly sheet metal, and that he would also be welding some pieces together to repair some objects inside the house. I was surprised that he had any interest in such a thing at all, not having known him to be on the handy or technical side.

I watched with fascination as he showed me to manipulate the sheets and use them properly. It was a bit later when he showed me how to do some welding, and after he was through with the first few pieces that he had welded, I knew then that this was the hobby that I wanted to learn.
