Your baby is now a toddler and wants to explore things on his own. This is also the time in his life where he will be trained to do things in preparation for the common things that he will do for the rest of his life. This would include potty training, drinking from a bottle to glass, walking, and of course, eating properly.
Toddlers will not be able to eat the way you want them to the first time you teach them. They will of course, play around. You will have to spoon-feed them most of the time. You will want to include your young kids during mealtimes, but you will not be able to concentrate when you carry them while feeding them or yourself. This is when a high chair comes in handy. A common high hair will allow you to feed your baby while you are standing or sitting in your own rocking chair while eating since the height of high chairs are adjustable.
You will not have to fear that your toddler will fall from the high chair since these mostly have safety straps or seat belts that your toddler will not be able to unlock. It also has a tray, which can be inserted on the chair’s arms, where the food is being placed. Your kid will be able to grab on to the food that they want to nibble (or just scatter these on the tray) so that they will be able to explore more about the food that they will usually eat. It is important that before you consider buying a high chair, make sure that it can be cleaned easily, will not pose any harm to your child and will be economical for you too.
The designs of high chairs are now going with the trend that is seen in other furniture in the household. These are now more functional and occupy less space in a room. Some high chairs are now functional since these may double as a napping chair with reclining features. Some may be still be used by larger kids (and even adults), since some have adjustable width for larger users. Most high chairs do not need much space in a room since these are foldable and may be kept in small areas in a room, or even in a corner of a room. So long as you will take care of it, your future kids will still be able to use the one that you buy now.
